IMPROVED FITNESS

Our structured curriculum is the perfect mix of learning and physical fitness and will help develop key motor skills in your youngster. In a typical class students will undergo a warmup and stretching to increase their flexibility, they’ll practice Muay Thai techniques in varied intensities to improve their fitness, and will also do a range of low impact bodyweight exercises such as push-ups, sit-ups and squats to develop their strength and conditioning.

SELF DEFENSE SKILLS

Students will learn a range of evasive and defensive techniques and through repetition we aim to train students to be alert and be able to protect themselves if it is ever required. This is practiced in drills and in live light contact sparring.

SELF CONFIDENCE

Students will progress through the ranks of Muay Thai by learning specific techniques and building their fitness to a point where the can sit for a grading to be promoted. The sense of achievement in learning a new skill, putting it into practice and earning a new rank gives students a healthy boost in self confidence.

WHAT THE KIDS SAY

review1-compressor “It’s been fun learning the basics of Muay Thai and by doing the Cartel Cubs training I’ve learnt that you have to work hard if you want to achieve your goals. I discovered this by doing my first grading. I like everything about the classes from the stretching, working hard during drills and bag work, to finishing with some strong basics at the end”

post2 I train in the Tiger Teens Muay Thai twice a week and I also do one of the fight training classes with the adults once a week. Everyone is really friendly and passionate about what they are doing. We have fun and work hard. The sparring is great because we’re learning how to defend ourselves and get better tricky moves and combinations. WFC has really helped me develop my skills and find areas that I can improve in.

All students require a uniform to train in, and protective gear such as shin guards and 8-12oz boxing gloves which we carry in stock along with the uniform. Mouth guards are compulsory and groin cup for boys are optional unless they are competing.

Students will have the opportunity to compete in modified Muay Thai events and sit for regular gradings based on performance. We have national championships held in QLD every year, and qualifiers are invited to compete at the World Games held in different countries each year.
